Hot Tub Time Machine

Director: Steve Pink
Year: 2010
Stars: John Cusack, Clark Duke, Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry

Before reading any reviews for this, I thought it looked a bit silly. Then I read a couple of reviews, and they convinced me it might actually be quite funny - another Hangover, if you like.

Well, they were (half) wrong. The film follows four guys who were young in the '80s (well, 3 guys and a nephew who was born in the '80s), as they try to re-visit their youth. They end up in a (you guessed it) hot tub time machine, and are actually transplanted back into the '80s.

The film's not bad as such, it's just not laugh-out-loud funny. There's enough here to amuse you, but not enough to make you want to revisit the film after your first viewing.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5

About Me

My photo
I live in Bristol with my husband Dan (who I married in July 2007), my son Joe (born 2012) and daughter Jess (born 2015). I work at UWE (the University of the West of England) in Bristol as a Research and Open Access Librarian. I'm orginally from Exeter, so moving back to Bristol is a bit like coming home - especially as I studied for my undergraduate degree here (also at UWE). I love travelling and movies, although I get to do a lot less of both since the birth of our children. Although we have still managed to fit in holidays to the Isles of Scilly, Chamonix and a summer in California since Joe was born.
