The Hangover Part II: Film #46 of Film 365

Wednesday 15th June 2011

Director: Todd Phillips
Year: 2011
Stars: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, Mason Lee

I wasn't disappointed with this movie - but I really, really could have been. Thankfully I'd had prior warning from a friend that it wasn't as great as some people had claimed, so I went in not expecting too much.

Oddly, if you haven't seen The Hangover, you'll probably enjoy The Hangover II more. That's because it's the same movie, set in a different place (Bangkok, rather than Las Vegas). The problem if you've seen the first one is that in almost every scene in Part II you know exactly what's about to happen. Don't get me wrong - I love the first Hangover. It's really, really funny. I wasn't sure before we went to see it, but I was impressed - see my original review here.

This is worth a watch if you haven't seen The Hangover. Alternatively, just watch the first one instead.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5

About Me

My photo
I live in Bristol with my husband Dan (who I married in July 2007), my son Joe (born 2012) and daughter Jess (born 2015). I work at UWE (the University of the West of England) in Bristol as a Research and Open Access Librarian. I'm orginally from Exeter, so moving back to Bristol is a bit like coming home - especially as I studied for my undergraduate degree here (also at UWE). I love travelling and movies, although I get to do a lot less of both since the birth of our children. Although we have still managed to fit in holidays to the Isles of Scilly, Chamonix and a summer in California since Joe was born.
