Confetti

Director: Debbie Isitt
Year: 2006
Stars: Martin Freeman, Jessica Hynes, Jimmy Carr, Stephen Mangan, Meredith MacNeill, Robert Webb, Olivia Colman, Vincent Franklin, Jason Watkins, Felicity Montagu

I wasn't really expecting much from this - which is probably a good thing because it wasn't great. Made in the style of a mockumentary, the director clearly hated weddings - or was perhaps just sick of all her friends getting married and going on about how great their weddings were going to be.

In the film, a wedding magazine comes up with the idea of having a competition for the wackiest wedding. Three couples are picked - one having a "musical" wedding, one a "tennis" wedding and one a naturists wedding. Two wedding planners are then brought in to help them realise these weddings.

There are tender moments, and some moments where I did titter a little, but Confetti wasn't anything like as funny as it thought it was.

About Me

My photo
I live in Bristol with my husband Dan (who I married in July 2007), my son Joe (born 2012) and daughter Jess (born 2015). I work at UWE (the University of the West of England) in Bristol as a Research and Open Access Librarian. I'm orginally from Exeter, so moving back to Bristol is a bit like coming home - especially as I studied for my undergraduate degree here (also at UWE). I love travelling and movies, although I get to do a lot less of both since the birth of our children. Although we have still managed to fit in holidays to the Isles of Scilly, Chamonix and a summer in California since Joe was born.
