RV Runaway Vacation

Director: Barry Sonnenfeld
Year: 2006
Stars: Robin Williams, Cheryl Hines, Joanna "JoJo" Levesque, Josh Hutcherson, Jeff Daniels, Kristin Chenoweth

This was very much a Sunday afternoon film - something to watch for a rest at the end of the weekend. As you may expect from a Sunday afternoon film, the plot wasn't exactly taxing. It being on TV, it was also very much a "family movie". The rudest joke by far was the name the hired RV got given, although this was certainly not the dirtiest joke (think schoolboy humour).

All this makes the film sound far worse than it actually was - as family films go, it's entirely unoffensive, the plot makes sense, and you're not groaning at the characters/ bad plot/ awful punch lines after half an hour. It's very much one of those films that ends with you saying "now that was a load of old rubbish", but you don't really mind having given up two hours of your time to watch it, and ocassionally you even found yourself tittering away.

About Me

My photo
I live in Bristol with my husband Dan (who I married in July 2007), my son Joe (born 2012) and daughter Jess (born 2015). I work at UWE (the University of the West of England) in Bristol as a Research and Open Access Librarian. I'm orginally from Exeter, so moving back to Bristol is a bit like coming home - especially as I studied for my undergraduate degree here (also at UWE). I love travelling and movies, although I get to do a lot less of both since the birth of our children. Although we have still managed to fit in holidays to the Isles of Scilly, Chamonix and a summer in California since Joe was born.
